Minute Maid Park

Home to major league baseball Houston Astros, the Minute Maid Park is the second top destination you need to explore during the trip in Houston. The architecture reflects the historical culture and relationship of Houston with the railroads.

Located in downtown Houston, MMP incorporates modernized convenience as well. Additionally, the park features a duplicate of the 19-century locomotive running about 800 feet with the west side of the ballpark.

Just like other baseball stadiums, the MMP has its quirks and signature highlights. Moreover, the central concept to build a public-private ballpark was coined in 1996. And in less than one year after its opening, the park won three awards.

The awards were from the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance, the most outstanding civil engineering project, and a national honor award for engineering excellence. Moreover, the park was previously known as the ballpark at union station.

Later, in 2002, the park was renamed after the Coca-Cola Company purchased it. Other than baseball events, the minute maid park hosts other events like soccer and rugby. The venue has also hosted large-scale music concerts featuring Taylor Swift, Madonna, Beyonce, and Jay Z.
